The Department of State grants a six-month waiver to complete continuing education requirements

Most real estate schools throughout the state are closing their doors to provide for the safety of their members and staff. The New York State Department of State (DOS) announced this week, that students who are unable to complete their CE credits due to the current state of emergency will be eligible for a waiver of up to six (6) months.

The process includes applying online using your eAccessNY account as normal. Specify that you did not complete your continuing education requirement, request a formal waiver and upload a document demonstrating the hardship you faced in not being able to obtain the credits in the required time-frame. DOS will notify you if the waiver is granted. DO NOT attempt to renew your license by falsely indicating that you obtained the education credits; this is a sure way to have your license suspended or revoked.

This is a new reality, but LIBOR is committed to maintaining business operations and ensuring services to our members.

Please follow the guidelines of local, state and federal authorities and continue to stay informed. Wishing you continued good health and safety.
